Neo Maxi Zoomdweebie Plot Outline

So you've stumbled apon this page and know nothing about The Breakfast Club?, well here is the low down :

The Breakfast Club (TBC) is a 1985 movie written, produced and directed by John Hughes who is responsible for most of the 1980's teen movies that were so popular at the time.

The movie is about 5 high school students who have to spend an entire Saturday in detention. Each one of them is from a different social set, a Brain (Brain Johnson), an Athlete (Andrew Clark), a Basket Case (Allison Reynolds), a Princess (Claire Standish), and a Criminal (John Bender). At the beginning of the day they don't know anything about each other and think they have nothing in common, and being from different social sets they each have various attitudes towards each other. But during the course of the day they learn to respect one another and find out they aren't all that different, and even when they are fighting they rally together against the common enemy Richard Vernon, the tough school principle who is there to watch over them for the day.

It can be a very moving film, with moments of great humour and lightheartedness. It is a John Hughes masterpiece of storytelling that defines not only the 1980's, but human behaviour. The characters and situations will be intimately familiar to everyone no matter what generation you are from.

Here is a quote from Donna Wright which I think sums up TBC very nicely:

"The Breakfast Club is about people, personality types, human behavior, strengths and vulnerabilities.  It is about stereotypes and breaking them down. It's about prejudice and gaining greater understanding through communication. It's about rebellion, and also about teamwork.  It's about life."
