John Bender is the sterotypical crimal rule breaking bully played supurbly by Judd Nelson. He is my favourite character in the film, purely because of the supurb performance of Judd Nelson. Apart from St Elmo's Fire, he hasn't ever done any big movies before or since (at least I haven't seen any of them). Nelson's facial expressions and delivery make him the most believable character in the film, and he simply looks the part!. One of the best performaces I have ever seen of any actor in any movie.
